LINGAYEN–Twenty ambulant vendors in this capital town will each receive a rolling store with merchandise and free marketing training under the Negosyo sa Kariton (NegoKart) project of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in cooperation with the provincial government.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved last week Resolution No. 324-2014 authorizing Governor Amado Espino Jr. to enter into a memorandum of agreement with DOLE for the implementation of the P376,000 project.

DOLE will provide P300,000 while the province will shoulder the remaining P76,000.

The beneficiaries, composed of ambulant vendors already operating around the Capitol compound, will undergo basic trainings on business management and bookkeeping for a more sustainable livelihood.

Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) Chief Alex Ferrer said PESO will monitor the vendors and additional grant may be given to those who will be able to make their small business flourish.

Ferrer said they target to distribute the stores by March this year.–Johanne R. Macob
