Calasiao’s Dr. Padlan is R1’s bet
NAT’L OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER
A DENTIST from Calasiao will represent Region 1 in the national search for outstanding volunteers, with awarding set in December.
Chosen as the region’s bet is Dr. Evangeline Padlan, president of the Philippine Dental Association-Pangasinan Chapter.
She was cited for her initiatives in organizing various projects that support the youth and the elderly sectors, including oral health care awareness as well as livelihood programs.
PDA-Pangasinan is also nominated for the national outstanding volunteer-group category.
As PDA president, Padlan established a continuing education for dentists, membership assistance, fellowship, sports, research and a campaign against illegal practice.
“I have committed to a lifetime service to the community,” she said.
Community beneficiaries describe Padlan as humble and approachable and “exhibited a golden heart”.
The search for Outstanding Volunteers is an annual contest organized by the Philippine National Volunteers Service Agency, an attached institution of the National Economic Development Authority, which seeks to recognize the exemplary performance and dedication to service of Filipino volunteers in building strong communities across the country through volunteerism.
