3 Sudanese, 1 Filipino nabbed for drug use

THREE Sudanese nationals and their Filipino companion were arrested by joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Dagupan police Thursday afternoon while having a pot session inside an apartment in Amado St., Barangay Tapuac.

Arrested were Mohammad Almad Mustafa, 23, Mohamed Emubarak Ali, 21, El Mustafa Mohammed, 20 and Ampers Guntang, 24.

Operatives of PDEA’s Pangasinan Sector Special Enforcement Team and Dagupan City Police Station seized from the suspects one bundle of suspected dried marijuana fruiting tops with an approximate weight of 200 grams, one plate of crushed dried marijuana leaves and seeds with an approximate weight of 1.5 grams, one large-sized cup containing used marijuana sticks, one zen roller and one bundle of rolling paper and assorted drug paraphernalia such as lighter, metal scissors and ash tray containing marijuana residue.

A case for violation of Sections 11 and 13 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 had been readied for filing against the suspects.—Eva Visperas
