LINGAYEN–Impressed by the grand transformation of the province, specifically on infrastructure, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, who recently came to visit, said “Pangasinan is doing great.”

In his brief message during the Dialogue-Consultation Conference of Pangasinan Local Chief Executives and Concerned National Government Agencies for Safe Election 2013 held November 27, Cayetano said that what the country needs in order to attain the Pilipinas 2020 vision is full support from local government units.

“Pilipinas 2020 will never happen unless we plan,” the senator said as he noted that planning must be complemented with work, which requires flexing of muscles and cause to benefit the majority of the populace.

Cayetano further said that as the country moves toward Pilipinas 2020, it has to pass through roads that include the 2013 elections.

“I encourage everyone to do honest elections because dirty election is the mother of all corruptions and before we proceed to the 2020 vision for the Philippine economy, we have to conduct corruption-free election,” he said.

Pilipinas 2020 is the national government’s vision anchored on economic reform based on transparency and good governance.

Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. earlier thanked the senator for his continuous support to the province.

The senator was welcomed by the governor, Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr., some members of the board, various local government chief executives, and representatives from national agencies including the Philippine National Police, Commission on Elections, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
