4 barangays remain unbeaten in Dagupan family sportsfest

BARANGAYS Bolosan, Bonuan Boquig and Tebeng, with a 5-0 win-loss card each, and Mamalingling with 4-0 are standing strong in their respective groups and maintained top leadership in the overall standings as of last week in the ongoing basketball tournament of the First Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Tournaments at the Stadia.

All four teams are now guaranteed to advance to the next round of the tournament, which will begin in the last week of August.

As of August 4, results of the games are: Bonuan Boquig dumped Caranglaan, Bacayao Norte nipped Lasip Grande, Pantal ruined Carael, and Bacayao Sur outgunned Pogo Grande. Barangays I, IV and Salisay won by forfeiture of games over Malaued, Calmay and Barangay II & III, respectively.

On August 5, the results are: Lucao besting Pantal, Lomboy blasting Mayombo, Bacayao Sur edging Herrero-Perez, Barangay I demolishing Pogo Chico, Bonuan Boquig upending Tapuac, and Bolosan outrunning Bonuan Gueset. Barangays Tebeng and Pugaro won their games by forfeiture when Pogo Grande and Calmay teams failed to show up.

Eight games were top-billed yesterday and another eight games are scheduled today, starting at 8 a.m.

The sportsfest is supported by Vice-Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, CSI Group of Companies, USATV, Stadia, and BAP (Basketball Association of the Philippines) Region I, Inc., and is televised live over USATV Channel 17.–Philamer C. Celi
