SM City Rosales holds storytelling event

SM City Rosales took part in the annual National Children’s Book Reading Day celebration which aims to promote love for reading and books among the young.

Bb. Pilipinas 2007 Runner up Abby Cruz read the book “The Cardinal and the Cats” to an audience of children including students from Math Excellence Academy and Simulation Therapeutic Activity Center.

Simultaneous book reading was conducted at all 43 SM Supermalls in the country and four in China.

“SM Malls have now grown beyond shopping, beyond entertainment, and leisure. It is now about taking affirmative action in our social responsibilities…. about taking initiatives, to be instrumental in caring for children, the best way we can,” said SM’s Engr. Jersey Mendoza.

The celebration was in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the National Book Development Board (NBDB), Vibal Publications, National Bookstore, SM Foundation and BDO Foundation.

Under SM Cares for youth and children’s welfare, the National Children Book Reading Day is celebrated yearly every 3rd Tuesday of July.
