Inter-barangay family sportsfest resumes today

EIGHT basketball games and 13 volleyball matches are lined up today as hostilities resume after three days of rest in the ongoing First Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Tournaments, starting at 8 a.m. at The Stadia.

In basketball, Tambac meets Barangay II; Lucao faces Lomboy; Tebeng battles Herrero-Perez; Bonuan Gueset attempts to score a win against dangerous Tapuac; Mangin engages Calmay; Barangay IV fights Mamalingling; Lasip Chico sets feud with Salapingao; and, Bolosan plays Caranglaan.

Tournament leader Pugaro, which registered three wins in basketball and four wins in volleyball without any loss, will play against Mamalingling on July 28.

In volleyball Court A, Bolosan plays two matches against Carael and Bonuan Boquig; Bacayao Sur also plays two matches with Pogo Grande and Tebeng. Carael has two matches to play, one against Bolosan and another with Salapingao later. The other matches are Malued vs. Pogo Chico; and, Lasip Grande vs. Calmay.

While in volleyball Court B, two matches are set for Lasip Chico that meets Tapuac later Bonuan Gueset; Lucao engages Pantal and Tambac; and, Lomboy battles Salisay and Mayombo.

These tournaments, televised live over USATV Channel 17, are supported by the Dagupan City Government, Vice-Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dagupan City, CSI Group of Companies, USATV, The Stadia, and BAP (Basketball Association of the Philippines) Region I. —Philamer C. Celi
