TO encourage young Dagupeños to become active catalysts of change, a Youth Summit was held at the City Astrodome recently spearheaded by the city government in partnership with Globe Telecom.

Participants included students from the Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU), University of Pangasinan (UPANG) and University of Luzon (UL) who are affiliated with the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).

“The youth should lead the revolution against poverty,” said Joey De Venecia III who served as one of the resource speakers.

He called on the participants to focus on education, entrepreneurship, and information and communication.

The summit featured various discussions on youth empowerment, social entrepreneurship and social media for social change.

Also discussed was the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 for environmental conservation and improved life conditions for communities. (PIA-Pangasinan)
