SAN CARLOS CITY–The heat proved too much for one policeman who was on duty watching over the delegates of the Palarong Pambansa billeted here.

PO2 Angel V. Del Rosario, 36, of Barangay Sta. Lucia, Urdaneta City suffered from heatstroke while driving his Honda Wave motorcycle, then lost control and bumped into a Digitel telephone post at the north side of the road in Barangy Culiling at 4:30 pm of May 10 on his way to Central II Elementary School.

The report, as relayed to the Philippine Information Agency by PO2 Louie Padilla of Urdaneta City Police, said Del Rosario was rushed to the Blessed Family Doctors hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Padilla added that according to Del Rosario’s wife, he already said he was feeling dizzy before leaving the house but insisted that he had to report for duty.

Del Rosario, stationed at the Urdaneta City station of the Philippine National Police, was temporarily assigned in San Carlos City to augment the police force that will provide peace and security to the delegates of the national games.

Del Rosario is survived by his wife and three children who are all in elementary school. (PIA-Pangasinan)
