THE city agriculture office has launched another alternative source of income for the poor through the Profitable Indigenous Grow-Out Systems (PIGS) in barangay Mangin last Thursday in line with Mayor Benjamin Lim’s plan to promote Dagupan for its special lechon.

Forty piglets were distributed to ten beneficiaries who have been taught on organic farming method, non anti-biotic meat production, “kulungan-without the bad smell” to ensure that hog backyard raising will not inconvenience the neighbourhood, least cost-high profit system, and the dip-litter bed and water pool.

Our office will schedule when marketing can be done, which will depend on the market to be targeted-whether it will be for meat or for lechon and collect the replacement piglet after the two or four months culture period and transfer the repayment piglet to another qualified beneficiary,” said Molina.

In his message, Lim said “Say Dagupan, pamuso ed bangus, bokayo, tanbagoong, natan say gawaen tayo ipakabat ti met so ciudad tayo ya pamusoed quality yababoy. Noakin ta gagawaen tayo ya lapod antayo say sakey ya lider nakaukulan manonot nasay pamarakel na pan-anap-bilay tapian onasenso so bilay na balangsinansakey.
