CPA-educators join convention

CERTIFIED Public Accountants (CPAs) in the field of education, including those from the Dagupan-based University of Luzon and University of Pangasinan-PHINMA, participated in the ACPAE-IV Second Annual Conference last January 27 to 29 in Baguio City.

The conference, attended by 154 CPAs from 67 schools around the country, tackled issues on research, revised code of ethics for accountants, outcome-based curriculum, audit updates, K-12, book publishing, career opportunities for accountancy students, and board of accountancy updates regarding the CPA exam syllabi.

The “WIN ACPAE –IV P50, 000 CPA Review Financing Support Program”, a no interest loan program for poor but deserving CPA reviewees, was also launched during the conference.

ACPAE (Association of CPAs in Education)-IV is an affiliation of accounting educators recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and National Association of CPAs in Education.–Raqueza S. Lalangan
