STA. BARBARA—A Chinese family from Calasiao was held up by heavily armed men on the night of August 30 along the main highway in Barangay Balingew here.

The victims – identified as the family of Johnson Lo, 50, his wife Marites, 48, and their son Charles, 16 – were stopped on the road while on board their Isuzu Sportivo vehicle by four suspects wearing black bonnets and carrying M-16 armalite rifle and hand guns.

The suspects used a green Starex van without a plate number.

None of the victims were hurt but the suspects took the bag of Mrs. Lo containing cash of about P180,000, several bank books, three postal identification cards, checks and check booklets.

Before making their get-away, one of the suspects took the key of the victims’ car to keep them immobile.
