THE Naval Reserve Center Northern Luzon  (NRCNL) in Dagupan City welcomed its new commander, Lt. Commander Oliver Fernandez, on May 1.

Fernandez took over from Navy Commander Zosimo Jimenez Jr. who is pursuing further studies in preparation for his promotion to Navy Captain.

Jimenez completed a two and a half-year tour of duty at NRCNL.

Brig. Gen. Bernardo Ferrer, commander of the Naval Reserve Command, presided over the turnover of command in a simple ceremony held at the Naval Detachment.

Ferrer lauded Jimenez for leading the unit during the big flood in October last year when it mobilized all its floating assets and personnel to help rescue victims in Dagupan City, Rosales town and other flooded areas of Pangasinan.

NRCNL, attached to the Naval Forces Northern Luzon based at Poro Point in La Union, is located at the 3.1-hectare Naval Detachment in Barangay Bonuan Gueset.-LM
