SAN CARLENAN IS SUMMA CUM LAUDE—Fatima Ann Samson Nicdao, 28, is joined by her parents Andrew and Mitos Samson-Nicdao, after receiving her diploma and honor as summa cum laude, Masters of Arts in Education from the Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles while teaching full time at an urban Catholic high school in East Los Angeles. Next month, she will be off to Managua, Nicaragua to teach U.S. history and economics at Lincoln International Academy. Upon her return, she plans on working towards doctoral studies in international and multicultural education with an emphasis on human rights education. She has traveled to over 194 cities and 12 countries. In college, Fatima attended Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, and earned her diploma in Psychology and Theology. Her parents are liturgical ministers at the Saint Martha’s parish in Valinda, California; Mitos is a certified Master Catechist and Andy is a certified Bible Study teacher from LMU.
