Pangasinan observes World Environment Month

LINGAYEN—”There are small things that we can do. Small contributions to mitigate the effect of climate change.”

This was the message sent out by Gov. Amado Espino Jr. as he led the kick-off activity for the observance of World Environment Month on June 8.

Espino, deputized as a Special Environment and Natural Resources Officer in August 2008, said climate change is alarming, frightening and is something that should be acted on immediately especially by industrialized countries.

Among the activities lined up by the provincial government for the month include tree planting and cleaning of beaches and rivers.

Meanwhile, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office Officer- in- Charge Leduina Co underscored the initiatives being undertaken by her office.
