VMUF athletes clinch medals in national PRISAA games
SAN CARLOS CITY–The Region 1 contingent, powered by athletes of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF), brought home 18 gold medals, 19 silver and 10 bronze from the 2009 National PRISAA (Private Schools Athletics Association) Games held in Naga City on April 19 to 25.
The VMUF ranked number one in the region and 5th nationwide.
Of the 18 gold medals, 17 were delivered by Athletics Women and one from Karatedo Women.
The Region I Women’s Athletics Team represented by VMUF athletes emerged overall champion in women’s athletics. In the combined ranking for athletics, Region I represented by VMUF athletes was in 2nd place.
The VMUF Athletics Men clinched four silver and two bronzes while Athletics Women produced 17 golds, 14 silver and seven bronze. The Karatedo Women showed up for one gold and one silver; Taekwondo Women, one silver.
In the last two years, the San Carlos City PRISAA delegation led by athletes of VMUF was overall champion in the PRISAA Meet.
