THREE towns, plus the team of host Mapandan, are bringing their best dribblers and are set to clash with each other in the 2009 Mapandan Invitational Basketball Tournament slated on April 14.

Gerald Tambaoan, event commissioner, said the whole day hostilities are one of the many sports’ projects of Mayor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. during the town’s celebration of its fiesta.

Participating are Mangaldan and Calasiao and Alaminos City.

It will be held at the Tulagan Gym and admission is free to the public.

“We are staging this cagefest as one of our contributions in the development of our athletes in the province, improve camaraderie and friendship,” said Calimlim.

Aside from the basketball games, there will be a 3-point shootout and a two-ball competition during the intermission periods of each game.—JAG, Jr.
