Gatchalian, is new BAP-Pangasinan commissioner
Manny Gatchalian, a veteran arbiter of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) Referees Commission, was voted the new BAP Provincial Commissioner during the election held at the University of Luzon (UL) Review Hall on March 14.

Gatchalian, UL’s head of publication section, was unanimously elected by 104 members.
With officiating experiences in National Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championships, National PRISAA and Philippine Open, Gatchalian pledged professional growth for referees under his leadership.
He said he aims to restore “the organization’s integrity and morale and to elevate referees’ efficiency to a higher level.”
“Transparency, accountability and responsibility will be the new leadership’s main thrust in ruining the group,” Gatchalian added.
Also elected were Chris Tamayo, treasurer; Gerardo Padillo, schedule chairman; Raul Bautista and Ric Bautista, physical fitness and training chairman; Jun Daroya and Abba Durente, discipline chairmen; Domy Menor and Rolly Nalapo, auditors.
Former Board Member Roger Law is the BAP’s Provincial Director while City Councilor Chito Samson is the Regional Director.—LM
