Finally, a drug suspect nabbed, charged

Another suspected illegal drug dealer was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and this time, he was promptly turned over to the City Prosecutors Office for inquest.

The suspect, Abdul Rashid Ismael of Bonuan Tondaligan, is now in jail facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, including the selling of illegal drugs, an unbailable offense, and possession of illegal drugs.

Third Assistant City Prosecutor Ferdinand Parayno signed the inquest for Ismael after he was brought by PDEA agents to the prosecutors’ office 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, just several hours after his arrest.

The case of Ismael comes in the midst of a rift between PDEA and the Prosecutors Office over the case of another suspected drug lord, Datu Michael Bagul.—LM
