Sta. Barbara lady cop among region’s best

STA. BARBARA–The lady cop who is leading the town police’s Integrated Transformation Program (ITP), has been honored as one of the Ten Outstanding Police Officers of Region 1 by the Rotary International District 3790.

PO3 Ruth Poserio, a registered nurse by profession, is currently the administrative police non-commission officer and the program officer of the Philippine National Police (PNP) ITP of the Santa Barbara Police Station.

“I am very happy and honored to receive this award. My efforts in serving the public was recognized, which underscores the importance of PNP leadership at all levels. Indeed, policewomen can be powerful catalyst for change and transformation in the community,” Poserio said who excitedly shared the award with her husband and four children.

Superintendent Eric Noble, the town police chief, said Poserio actively assists in implementing the station’s innovative programs such as the Feed and Read to lead program for children, heritage tours, livelihood project on bag and casket-making from old newspapers, and the comprehensive anti-drug and frat-gang campaign.

Poserio received a plaque and cash award of P20,000 from R.I District 3790 Governor Jesus Nicdao and the PNP Ilocos Region Director, Chief SupT. Luizo Ticman, on February 20 at the Oasis Hotel in San Fernando, La Union.

She was also given a plaque of recognition by the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office in Lingayen town on February 23. Sta. Barbara Mayor Reynaldo Velasco said she will be honored on March 2.

I hope that PO3 Poserio’s award will inspire other police officers to be achievers as well,” Velasco said.#
