Baby Arenas hosts lunch for Erap
MALASIQUI–No politics here.
Socialite Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas, mother of 3rd District Rep. Ma. Rachel Arenas who is a close ally of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, made this clear when she hosted lunch for former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada and his entourage of opposition leaders last Wednesday in her farmhouse here.
“No politics, this is only friendship and love for our district mates so that they can also meet everyone before election,” said Arenas.
Estrada, the country’s top opposition leader, was accompanied on his Lakbay Pasasalamat tour in Pangasinan by Sen. Loren Legarda, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, former Sen. Ernesto Maceda, lawyer Adel Tamano, Joey de Venecia and former Batangas Vice Governor Ricky Recto.
“The Arenas farm is the people’s farm and everyone is welcome here,” Arenas added even as she acknowledged that she built a room in the house exclusively for Arroyo.
Arenas said her daughter “is really making a big difference in the third district through the kindness of the President GMA”.
Arenas also said they are still undecided about whom to support for the 2010 election.
“But what is important to us is the people’s pulse that is what we’re going to follow and not to focus on whatever could possibly be the source of hurt feelings of anyone because everyone is welcome here,” she said.#
