BINALONAN–Projects related to education will be the highlight of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s visit here, her mother’s hometown, in time for the town’s annual fiesta on February 24.

Arroyo will inaugurate two infrastructure projects: a new two-storey-four-classroom building at the South Central Elementary School and the Library Hub, the first of its kind in Region 1.

The Hub, a project conceived by the Department of Education in 2003 to improve reading skills and comprehension among students, will house some 35,000 volumes of different story books which can be borrowed for one month at a time by the area’s public schools.

The Schools Division 1 in Pangasinan covers 559 schools.

Arroyo will also preside over a conference of education officials at the nearby e-library hall.#
