Decorp, CSI are top Dagupan taxpayers
THE Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp), franchise holder of the electricity distribution in Dagupan and several neighboring towns, was the biggest payer of business taxes in the city for 2008, contributing P6.9million.
A list of top 10 business taxpayers and 10 top realty taxpayers released by City Treasurer Romelita Alcantara on Friday showed that City Supermarket Inc., which is owned by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, is in close second with a payment of P6.8 million in both business and real property taxes.
CSI was the top realty taxpayer in the city at P2.8 million while its three subsidiaries were in sixth, eight and 11th places, in payment of business taxes, based the records of the city’s One-Stop-Shop submitted to Alcantara.
San Miguel Brewery contributed P3.06 million out of its sales of P511.18 million, followed by The Purefoods-Hormel Company, Inc., distributor of food products, which paid P2.04 million out of its sales of P547.30 million.
Other companies in the list are Natasha, retailer of fashion products and cosmetics, with P2.18 million out of its sales of P137.64 million; Sony Phil. Inc. with P1.64 million from its sales of P219.12 million; CSI Warehouse Club Inc. (ground floor), P1.55 million from its sales of P103.2 million; JVC Philippines Inc. which sells appliances, P1.39 million out of its sales of P185.35 million; City Supermarket Inc., a sister company of CSI Warehouse Club, P1.36 million out of its sales of P180.1 million; Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation, P1.32 million out of its sales of P176.4 million; San Miguel Corp-Centralize Key Accounts Group, P1.32 million with its sales of P176.38 million.
Alcantara said the 11th ranking taxpayer is another CSI Warehouse Club, which paid P1.04 million out of its sales of P174.87 million.
Second to CSI in the payment of real property taxes is Borealis Corp. at P2.09 million.
On the other hand, Benjamin and Celia Lim Dynasty Realty Sales and Development Corp/Magic WorldRealty Development Corp paid realty taxes of P962,320 while Ngo Chiao Lin paid P741,614; and Kerwin Fernandez et al, P457,794.
The other big realty taxpayers are Alipio and Elimina Fernandez/ANFE Realty and Development Corporation, P347,802; Voltaire and Loreta Arzadon, P331,858; BHF/Aurora and Remegio Bonifacio, P232,363; PLDT, P222,630; and PNB, P182,337.—LM
