Aro Writing Awards

ARO Ministries, a nonprofit organization duly incorporated and registered with the State of California, in partnership with the Calasiao Church of Christ, is sponsoring the Aro Writing Awards for 2009.

Students and others interested in Pangasinan are encouraged to write articles, letters to editor, etc. in secular newspapers and school papers.  Published materials must deal with Christian values and spiritual virtues, quoting at least one scripture from the Bible.  Participating Christians should have the spirit and attitude of the Psalmist: “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer” (Psalm 45:1).

Entry materials bearing the name of the contestant must be published during the period from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.  Actual copy of entry must bear the name of publication and date published.  There is no limit to the number of entries which must be submitted on or before January 15, 2010 to: Calasiao Church of Christ, 406 Cabilocaan, Calasiao, 2418 Pangasinan.

Major and special prizes will be awarded in March 2010: First prize, P5,000.00; Second Prize, P3,000.00; Third Prize, P1,000.00; and Special Prizes of books.
