Artificial contraception is big business—Archbishop Cruz

Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, backing the Catholic Church’s stance in the controversial reproductive health bill, said artificial contraception is big business and puts women at high medical risk.

“There is always a big lobby for contraception all over the world for contraception I am not saying that they are giving money to Congress or to some people. What I am saying, it is matter of record that there is big money for contraception as there had been big money before for cigarette smoking, etc.,” Cruz said.

He also said the women will have to suffer the ill-effects of artificial contraception as “anything that is artificial is false so there is something here that is not true.”

Cruz also dubbed the proposed bill as propagating “irresponsibility”.

“It is the right of parents to exercise the marital act but it is also their obligation to comply with the possibility of having a child,” he said.

“To separate the right from the obligation by using artificial contraception etc, etc. is irresponsible,” he added. #
