The Dagupan BJMP has been cited Best City Jail nationwide from 2002 to 2004.

“Maybe, we are the first and the only one jail countrywide going high-tech like this,” Sison said.

The city government has provided the jail with internet connection while one of the inmates, a “Bill” from Anda, is helping them develop and maintain the city jail’s own website (bjmpdagupancity.google-pages.com).

“Bill”, knowledgeable on web design and computer maintenance, also manages the BJMP’s blogspot (bjmpdagupancityjail.-blogspot.com), containing contains news and photo releases, which have been up since January 2006.

He said the podcast complements to both their website and blog as it will allow the visually-impaired to keep abreast of their projects.

Among the developments that they report include updates on the rehabilitation of facilities, revival of their saloon, repair of infirmary, illumination of the jail premises, renovation of the administrative and warden offices and all existing cells, and livelihood activities.

Sison said the new initiative is in line with their motto: “Bilangguan Man ay Paraiso Din sa Patakarang Maka Diyos at Makatao.”#
