ALAMINOS–This city is strengthening its promotion of the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP) under a program centered on the traditional bayanihan concept.

A two-day Alaminos Tourism Summit, set to start on December 12, will bring together the town’s private and public sector stakeholders to discuss and assess the city government’s tourism plan.

Mayor Hernani Braganza said they will jointly outline future plans and specific projects through closer public-private partnerships.

The summit “would shape the future of the city’s tourism industry and Alaminos in general”, said Braganza.

“We are now ready to venture beyond borders and campaign for more travel packages geared towards different target groups,” he added.

Small sectoral discussions have been undertaken prior to the summit to identify funding and project implementation schedules and monitoring.

Other matters that will be discussed during the summit include the development of tour packages as well as improving standards among the professional tourism front liners and the requisite training.#
