New radio program draws community support

The new public affairs radio program ‘Aliguas na Lugar, Aliguas na Bilay’ hosted by former Dagupan City Councilor Alex De Venecia is beginning to draw public support and participation.

The program, sponsored “Advocacy for Community Lives Improvement, a non-profit organization, is  just a month old and aired every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 pm and Sunday at 8:00-9:00 am on DWPR 1296 AM Radio.

It is a regular forum for topics and issues on cooperative, employment, livelihood, entrepreneurship, education (vocational/technical/BS programs), public safety, environment, health care, youth/sports and good governance.

De Venecia, presently a professor at University of Pangasinan and University of Luzon, regularly invites resource persons to respond to issues raised in his program.

To date, his resource persons included Ernesto Rosario of Cooperative Development Authority, Jose Oviedo of Dagupan City Savings and Credit Cooperative, Ponciano Catipon of TESDA, Chief Dionisio Borromeo of Dagupan City Philippine National Police.  Members of the academe particularly from UPang and LU have participated in the past weeks.

De Venecia said he will begin to devote more time to discuss livelihood, entrepreneurship, cooperative, environment, public safety, youth/sports development and good governance in future programs.
