Team Dagupan shooters shine in Cebu Invitational Shootfest

The Dagupan Practical Shooting Association (DPSA) Team, performed creditably pitting their shooting skills against a formidable line  up of Filipino international and Visayan shooters in the recently concluded Glock Invitational Shootfest held in Mactan, Cebu last June 1-3, 2006.

Despite the lack of exposure in international shooting competitions, team DPSA shooters stood shoulder to shoulder with the more experienced and seeded shooters in the Production Division.

Rob-rob Erfe-Mejia, DPSA 80-time Top Gun, garnered first runner-up honors in the 3-day 8-stage shooting event, as he pitted talent against champion Stephen Hinojales, member of the Philippine Team to the 2005 WordlShoot XIV in Ecuador, and a former European Shooting Champion.

Third placer Wilfredo Anglo, is a WorldShoot veteran, a former Philippine Team member and 2004 Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) National Production Division Champion. Fifth placer Bryant Yu is a World Shoot Veteran and former Philippine Team Champion in the open division.

Eighth placer Danny Torrevillas was champion, senior production category in the 2005 WorldShoot XIV in Ecuador.

Twelfth placer Fernando Gonzaga, a former Philippine Team member, was 2005 Thailand International Practical Shooting Confederation National Champion, Production Division.

Meanwhile, DPSA’s Alvin Pastora the young, up and coming shooter placed a respectable 20th finish in the formidable cast of Production Division shooters, while Team DPSA’s lone lady shooter Kristine Baltazar  placed 36th.

DPSA’s Rolando Baltazar garnered first runner-up honors in the Modified Division.
