FOR THE FIRST time since its founding, the Dagupan City National High School opened additional classes for special science and special program for arts.

DCNHS principal Erlinda Nabor added that the additional special classes are offered at no extra costs to the city or to the qualified students.

She explained that the special classes aim to help gifted students who excel in science and arts and to expand their skills.

Unlike other private schools that offer special science and art classes, Nabor said the new program is a boon to parents who can’t afford to send there children to private schools for these special classes.

But Nabor said the process was not easy as qualified students were thoroughly screened and had to pass the written and oral examinations.

There were 108 students who passed the examination in special science while 60 students passed the screening in special program for arts. – AQL
