Mayor Belen restores her UnliSerbisyo program
DAGUPAN City Mayor Belen Fernandez hit the ground running on July 1 with the immediate implementation of programs that she initiated but discontinued by Mayor Brian Lim.
She announced the full restoration of her UnliSerbisyo program after the Monday, July 4, flag ceremony, among these are:
- City Emergency Center (City Health Office) to be open 24/7 to cater to patients in emergency situations.
- “Dagupeño, Lehitimo Ako” to ensure that all Dagupan children are registered from birth and those without it are officially registered and legitimized.
- “Paligo” to provide street children and children of poor families regular shower.
- “Story-telling” for children once the face-face-classes resume.
- Periodic general cleaning of all public markets and offices at the Dagupan City Hall.
- Intensified anti-illegal drug campaign in barangays.
- Women’s Center for solo parents.
At the same time, she ordered:
- The return of the Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Service Point Officers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars laid off by the past administration and the hiring of 200 more of them to complete the 800 needed in all barangays.
- The cleaning of canals using two Vactrone units (one owned by the city government, the other owned by the DPWH).
3.. The designation of permanent nurses by City Health Officer Ophelia Rivera that will take care of the health concerns of city employees who must be provided the benefit to have a yearly complete medical check-up on their birth months.
She also announced the launching of an intensified nutrition program for children that will be supported by the private sector.
Fernandez added she aims to restore the trust and confidence of investors with her policy of transacting business with the city government with ease and eliminate kotong and red tape.
She reminded the city government employees, “not to lie, cheat and deceive people in anyway,” and must maintain integrity, honesty and courtesy at all times in their work places to earn the respect of the people. (Leonardo Micua)
