THE ease of doing business in Dagupan City was already proven by the prompt action on the project proposal of Filinvest Land in 2019 during the first term of Belen Fernandez as city mayor.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Filinvest Land for its second condominium building within the Futura One Dagupan township in Barangay Lucao on March 15, Mayor Fernandez said “It took us only one hour to approve the project.”

“Ganun kabilis po ang Investment and Development Board natin,” she proudly stressed.

She said the same prompt action during her first terms were availed of by SM, City Mall and other big projects, including the recent one, Dunkin also in Lucao, which took its representatives only several minutes to get the nod of the Investment and Development Board.

“We welcome all investors to come,” she said, as she dispelled perceptions that she, being the owner of CSI, a chain of major shopping malls in Dagupan, Pangasinan and other areas in Northern Luzon, would not allow competitors to operate in the city.

She said when the Filinvest project was presented to them, they were the ones who were more excited than the company itself, adding that “because now the people of Dagupan have a place to choose where they want to stay with their family or minsan they want to have a place for their children, buy a home for them at nakita ko ito na oh, ang ganda, tingnan mo yung building ang taas”.

With the Filinvest project, the mayor is optimistic that Dagupan City will be upgraded again, saying that from first class, it downgraded to second class.

She added, “We are hopeful to establish a brand residential and commercial village that will offer one-of-a-kind investment choices for our fellow Dagupeños, Pangasinenses and our visitors.”

She said the presence of a renowned real estate developer like Filinvest demonstrates trust and confidence of investors in Dagupan as center of trade and commerce in Northern Luzon”.

The Futura One project by Filinvest in Lucao is a 2.3-hectare mid-rise condominium community consisting of seven buildings, each eight storeys high. The Futura One Building B is its second residential condominium in Lucao and it comes less than a year from the groundbreaking of Building A which is now nearing completion. (Eva Visperas)
