DURING the “Rambak ti Siyensya” 2023 Regional Science and Technology Innovation Week held in Laoag City from October 16 to 18, Alaminos City Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste was awarded the Science and Technology & Innovation (STI) Ambassador Award.

The award was presented by DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr to City Agriculturist Araceli Talania, on Mayor Celeste’s behalf.

Alaminos City, under the leadership of Mayor Celeste, championed the promotion of Science and Technology across Region I by developing innovative products made from bamboo.

The Hundred Islands E-Kawayan Factory showcased premium-quality novelty items, including vases, baskets, lampshades, and wooden vehicle display toys, as successful STI research and development products during the three-day Technology Exhibit.

One of the LGU’s initiatives is to reduce plastic waste and encourage sustainable living practices by creating display items from renewable resources, in addition to promoting Alaminos City’s local products. (Kim Gealogo)
