56 farmers successfully completed the “Season-Long Farmers Field School on Sustainable Rice Production with Emphasis on Palay Check System” in Barangay San Pedro, San Carlos City, which took place on October 13.

Farmers from Barangay San Pedro and Matagdem took the four-month training course organized by the local government’s Extension Training Services, received their certificates of completion for their participation throughout the entire rice production process, from land preparation to crop harvesting.

The training school focused on teaching local farmers how to use modern farm equipment effectively, manage soil nutrients, and identify both harmful and beneficial insects.

The graduation event and Field Day were attended by City Mayor Julier Resuello, Provincial Rice Coordinator Estrellita Jacaban, and Gloria De Guzman from the Agricultural Training Institute–Region I. (Kim Gealogo)
