WHILE CITY’S VACTRON IS NOT OPERATIONAL

DECLOGGING of drainage operations by the City Engineering Office (CEO) along the city’s main thoroughfares using Vactron machine provided by the Department of Public Works and Highways to support the Flood Mitigation program of the city government has begun.

Mayor Belen Fernandez and City Engineering Officer-in-Charge Engr. Josephine Corpuz led the declogging operations on September 13, 2022 in Barangay Tapuac, particularly along the YMCA intersection, a perennially flood-submerged area during heavy rains and high tide.

The Vactron is able to suction off silt, dirt and debris from drainages to help flood waters subside quickly.

The mayor is hopeful that the city’s own Vactron and backhoe heavy equipment which are still under maintenance repair since January this year, will be operational at the soonest possible time so declogging operations can begin at the BPI-Jollibee Junction area to MH del Pilar-Mayombo intersection.
