ORs ON BOND PAPER

MOTORISTS and netizens were enraged on seeing photos and complaints about the Official Receipts (OR) merely printed on bond paper being issued by Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the region, posted on social media.

LTO –Regional Office 1 Assistant Regional Director Kathleen Salayog explains that the coupon bond-OR issuance is temporary pending completion of the testing of the new Land Transport Management System being managed by a new IT provider.

She said the new batch of ORs using the new system will be released soon.

Under the new LTMS, motorists have to submit an application, book an appointment and pay for driver’s license transactions via online by registering an account at portal.lto.gov.ph

Only a number of LTO sites, including Dagupan City, have been included in the LTMS; other sites are still being handled by Stradcom, LTO’’s support provider since 1998.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has delayed the issuance of the new ORs, Salayog said.

She, however, assured that printed temporary ORs can easily be verified once the new ORs are available. (Ahikam Pasion)
