Pangasinan is 13th among 14 big provinces

SECOND WITH LOWEST COVID CASES

PANGASINAN (including Dagupan) ranks No. 13 among the 14 largest provinces (population) with the most number of COVID cases in the Philippines according to the tracker of the Department of Health (DOH) as of March 24.

The latest DOH COVID-19 tracker showed that Pangasinan, the fourth most populous province in the country with a population of 2.9 million, recorded 5,394 total COVID-19 cases.

Nueva Ecija, with 3,465 cases with 2.1 million population, is no. 14.

Pangasinan, the largest province in Region 1 in both area and population, is currently under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) classification.

Cebu province (including Cebu City, Lapu lapu and Mandaue), the largest province in the country with a population of 4.6 million, reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases as of March 24 with 45,331 cases.

Second placer is Cavite with 32,792 cases, (population:3.6 million), currently the second largest province in the whole country.

Laguna is in third place with 32,792 cases (pop: 3.03 million), followed by Rizal in fourth with 27,270 cases (pop: 2.8 million); Bulacan is no. 5 with 16,306 cases (pop. 2.6 million).

Other listed provinces are Batangas (sixth place) with 16,306 cases (pop. 2.6 million); Davao Del Sur (including Davao City (seventh place) with 15,308 cases (pop. 2.2 million); Negros Occidental (including Bacolod) (eighth place) with 12,605 cases (pop. 3.0 million); Pampanga (including Angeles City) (ninth place) with 11,607 cases (pop. 2.6 million); Iloilo (including Iloilo City (10th place) with 11,607 cases (pop. 2.3 million); Quezon (including Lucena) (11th place) with 8,703 cases (pop. 2.1 million) and Leyte (including Tacloban) (12th place) with 8,091 cases (pop. 1.9 million).
