Gov. Espino fetes health workers in the 10th Annual Health Summit

THE provincial government led by Governor Amado I. Espino III simultaneously staged the 10th Annual Provincial Health Summit and 2019 LGU Scorecard Awarding Ceremony at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center II (PTDC II) in Lingayen, Rustic Crown Hotel in Alaminos City, and Balikbayan Hall in Urdaneta City on December 10.

Governor Amado I. Espino III expresses his gratitude to the health workers and local government unit heads for their continuous effort against the fight for COVID-19 during the 10th Annual Provincial Health Summit and 2019 LGU Scorecard Awarding Ceremony.

The ceremony rewards the endless sacrifice and support of health workers from different local government units (LGUs) under the various inter-local health zones to the health programs and projects of the present administration.

Since it was launched in 2010, the LGU Scorecard serves as the performance evaluation of the LGUs on their executive and legislative support to the health thrust of the provincial government in which each LGU are assessed annually based on their budgetary allocations on health, good practices on local health governance, innovations among other health indicators.

Bayambang District Hospital Inter-local Health Zone bags the Top Performing Inter-local Health Zone in Public Health Program Implementation award.

Gov. Espino hailed the health workers and local government unit heads for actively playing as partners of the Espino administration especially in the period of pandemic.

“Salamat po sa inyong sakripisyo. Kasama nyo po lahat kami dito sa provincial government upang alagaan po ang bawat mamamayan ng probinsya ng Pangasinan,” said Gov. Espino.

Gov. Espino also urged the health workers and locals for unity and cooperation: Dagdagan pa po natin ang ating pagtitiyaga at dito po sa provincial government nakikita niyo po hindi po namin pinapabayaan ang aming trabaho.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario who chairs the SP committee on health, commended the efforts of all health workers and the local government unit heads for their continuous support in the fight against COVID-19.

Bayambang District Hospital Interlocal Health Zone also captures the Most Improved Inter-local Health Zone in Public Health Program Implementation award.

For this year’s awarding rites, the top performing LGU in public health program implementation covering the fiscal year 2019 was bagged by the Municipality of Rosales (1st), Municipality of San Nicolas (2nd), and Municipality of Alcala (3rd).

The other LGUs which occupied the 4th to 10th places are as follows: Anda, Bayambang, San Quintin, Santa Maria, Urdaneta City, Mabini, and Sual.

For the top performing Inter-Local Health Zone (ILHZ) in Public Health Program Implementation for CY 2019, the following were the winners: Bayambang District Hospital Inter-local Health Zone (1st), Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital Inter-local Health Zone (2nd), and Western Pangasinan District Hospital Inter-local Health Zone (3rd).

The Bayambang District Hospital Interlocal Health Zone was cited as 2019 Most Improved Inter-Local Health Zone in Public Health Program Implementation.

..   In addition, Provincial Planning and Development Officer (PPDO) Benita M. Pizarro received the LGU Scorecard of the province of Pangasinan.

Provincial Health Officer Anna Ma. Teresa De Guzman stressed that the LGU Scorecard serves as a guide for the LGUs and health practitioners for their health implementation program.

Message of support by Provincial Department of Health Office-Team Leader Ivy Ico-Palma was declared.

Joining Gov. Espino in PTDC II were Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, Provincial Health Officer Anna Ma. Teresa S. De Guzman, Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil, and PDOHO-Team Leader Ivy Ico-Palma.

Board Member Margielou Orange Humilde-Verzosa led the ceremony in Alaminos City, and Board Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa with Board Member Salvador S. Perez, Jr., spearheaded the awarding ceremony in Urdaneta City. /Diane A. Tinambacan
