Two men arrested as UPORs, posing as Malacañang staff

THE two men are facing charges for misrepresenting themselves as employees at the office of the President in Malacañang at a checkpoint in Barangay Tampog in Bayambang, Pangasinan.

P/Lt. Colonel Norman Florentino, officer-in-charge at the Bayambang Police Station, said the two residents of Urdaneta City, Jesus Labuan Jr., 59, and Domingo Soriano, 44, were arrested at the checkpoint in the city being unauthorised persons outside residents (UPOR) after they failed to present quarantine passes.

Labuan and Soriano claimed to be the chief executive of the Special Security Force and as PRAMS monitoring officer. A car sticker of the Office of the President is attached in front of their blue car.

Police Colonel Redrico Maranan, Provincial Director of the Pangasinan PNP, said a verification at the office of Presidential Management Staff Regional Field Unit 1 confirmed that both Labuan and Soriano are not staff of the Office of the President in Malacanang.

Maranan said both were charged with the falsification of public document, violation of Article 151 and usurpation of authority and are currently detained at Bayambang PNP jail. (Nora Dominguez)
