SK kagawad, 3 others arrested for ignoring checkpoints
A Sangguniang Kabataan kagawad of Barangay Pogo Chico in Dagupan and three others were arrested and charged by the San Fabian police for refusing to stop at police checkpoints in the town’s Barangays Cayanga and Tiblong on April 29.
SK Kagawad Noel Navarro, 24, of Pogo Chico, and his companions were on board the Barangay Pogo Chico vehicle speeding towards La Union, when they initially did not stop at the police checkpoint in Barangay Cayanga.
Barangay vehicle used to evade checkpoint
They did the same minutes later in a checkpoint in Barangay Tiblong, prompting the police to chase them and were subsequently stopped before they could cross to La Union boundary.
With Navarro were Jose Llamas, 67, the driver of the barangay vehicle; Jimmy Marcelo, 59, both of Barangay Pogo Chico; and Rolando Ducusin, 30, a construction worker, of Rosario, La Union.
All the suspects were charged for violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code.
Pangasinan at present is under the Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine until May 15, thus no one is allowed to exit and enter the province.
