SP hails 9 studes from Bugallon for winning 2 robotics competitions

THE Provincial Government of Pangasinan commended the feat of nine pupils from Bugallon who won in two robotics competitions held in Thailand and Manila.
This was formalized through the approval of Provincial Resolution No. 177-2019, which was authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Nestor D. Reyes and Von Mark R. Mendoza and passed during the regular session of September 30.
Among the students are Janwyne Aaron U. Cruz, a grade six pupil of Bugallon Kidsworld Academy, Inc., who sizzled in the 2019 World Robot Games Thailand held on September 1 at the Grand Diamond Hall of ZEER Rangsit Malll, Pathum Thani in Thailand where he bagged a performance award medal.
During the 2019 Innovative Technology Challenge Australia – Philippine Qualifying held on September 14 at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, Cruz including eight other pupils from the same school brought pride and honor to the province of Pangasinan.
In the Sumo 1 kg. Junior category, three Pangasinenses were adjudged champions – Janwyne Aaron U. Cruz, Jan Paolo T. Sorio and Aena Malaika U. Disni while Czril Daniel S. Ocsan, Fisal Obaid F. Alkendi and Lainard Jessie L. Baniqued secured the 2nd-runner-up spot.
Ocsan, Sorio and Alkendi won as 1st runner-up, in the Sumo Basic Junior category while Disni and Cruz placed 2nd runner-up.
Meanwhile, Clark Stephenson E. Bulatao, Julia May F. Vallesteros ended up 1st runner-up in the Poster-Making Junior category while Aliyah Charizze V. Aquino earned the 2nd runner-up rank.
These pupils will comprise the Philippine Robotics Team to compete in the 6th World Innovative Technology Challenge – Australia slated on October 25-26 at the Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus in Australia.
Hence, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is looking forward to these young pupils for further development of their talents and participate more in various robotics competition, locally and internationally, as well as for the promotion of science, technology and innovation, the resolution noted. /Shiella Mae C.
