OFW families hold fun fair

LINGAYEN– Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Family Associations got together for a one-day fun fair organized and sponsored by the Pangasinan Employment Services Office (PESO) on December 3 in two venues.

Recognizing the sacrifices of the “modern day heroes,” Governor Amado Espino III reiterated has pledge to continue the provincial government’s support to future endeavors of the OFW sector, particularly their families.

“Nalilibang na kayo, kumikita na kayo at higit sa lahat, natutulungan niyo pa ang pamilya ninyo,” the governor said noting the success of many OFW families in their livelihood programs offered by the the provincial government.

The fun fair for OFW family associations in First and Second Districts was held at the Sison Auditorium while associations in the Third District had theirs at the Calasiao Sports Complex.

The provincial chief executive cited the increased activities of entrepreneurial programs of the provincial government, particularly the livelihood assistance program of the Provincial Population Office (PPO) and the Bigasang-Bayani Project of the PESO for the OFW Family Associations in the province.

The expansion of the said rice-retailing livelihood venture is one proof of the success of the opportunities offered by the provincial government.

Espino called on all members of the various OFW family associations to continue their “perseverance and sacrifice” in order to sustain their unity and strong bonds among them.

Activities during the event included parlor games for all ages and raffle draws with exciting prizes. (PIO/SMDG)
