LINGAYEN–Pangasinan came home with its hands full of awards. The province bagged seven out of eight top awards given by the Regional Development Council (RDC) for 2010, besting the three other Ilocos Region provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La Union.

THE Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) has at last expanded its service to the island barangays using underground pipes laid down across the Calmay River from the mainland. Residents of the island villages have over the decades been fetching potable water from the Dagupan mainland.

LINGAYEN– The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) tagged Pangasinan but the provincial police begs to disagree. Senior Superintendent Rosueto Ricaforte, provincial police director, has flatly denied a report from the PDEA that Pangasinan is now among the top 10 provinces that are major sources of illegal drugs.

A GRADUATE of Colegio de Dagupan (CdD), Roby Ann G. Prado, was the 10th placer in the December 2011 Nursing Licensure Exams (NLE). A native of San Carlos City, Prado was among the 29,711 who passed, representing only 35% of the 84,287 nationwide who took the exams.
