Dagupan’s Herrero-Perez Road set for closure for upgrading
WHILE 80 percent of the ongoing road improvement projects in Dagupan completed to date, the city government is set to close Herrero-Perez Road at the back of SM Central Dagupan for upgrading.
Public Order and Safety Office chief Arvin Decano said the parallel roads that connects to A.B. Fernandez Avenue, Pantal Road and Mayombo in the south needs to be upgraded because this is often not passable during heavy prolonged rains and during high tide.
He said Mayor Belen Fernandez will source funds for the upgrading of Herrero-Perez road from the 2024 annual Dagupan City budget.
Meanwhile, Mayor Fernandez, City Engineer Josephine Corpuz and the POSO continue to conduct consultations with affected residents of Herrero-Perez to ensure smooth flow of construction of the project, Decano said.
He told DWPR in an interview that jeepneys coming from Calasiao and Sta. Barbara will be rerouted back to M.H. del Pilar Street even if the upgrading of this stretch is still on going. (Leonardo Micua)
