Dad dies in motorcycle accident, daughter injured
A MOTORCYCLE accident in Umingan town resulted in the death of a 47-year-old father while his daughter who rode with him was seriously injured on Monday, February 6.
Victim Eddie Emperador was riding his motorcycle, along with daughter, Pauline May Emperador, 20, both residents of Barangay Capas in Agoo town, La Union, slammed into an electric post when he lost control as he tried to overtake a vehicle ahead of them.
Both were rushed to the hospital, but the father was declared dead on arrival.

Two-storey house in Tayug razed
A TWO-storey house in Barangay Zone 5, Trenchera, Tayug town, was razed on Sunday, February 5.
Isabel Geralde, 75, owner of the house, never thought that her practice of burning dried leaves near the house would result in losing her house.
In an interview, Geralde said she was burning dried leaves she swept in one area, but the wind carried over some burning leaves into her house.
The house, being made of light materials, immediately caught fire and as she rushed to extinguish the fire, she fell carrying a bucket of water.
Neighbors were able to contact the local firemen, who promptly responded.
Geralde suffered a first-degree burn and chickens were roasted alive.

Motorcycle-riding teacher killed in road accident
A 59-year-old teacher died after his motorcycle collided with a truck head-on in Barangay Poblacion Sur in Sison town, Monday, February 6.
Victim Domingo Caramat Laguit Jr, resident of Barangay Asan Sur in the town, was traversing the road, when he overtook a vehicle ahead of him, but accidentally hit a truck’s dropside driven by Bobby Miranda Buico, 50, who was traveling from the opposite lane.
The victim sustained severe head injuries, killing him on the spot. Buico is under police custody, while the investigation is ongoing.

More motorcycle riders die in road mishaps
IN Pozorrubio town, two motorcycle-riding women died in a road accident in Barangay Alipangpang on Tuesday, February 7.
Victims Marilyn delos Santos, 51, and backrider Amilia Boral, 52, both residents of said town, were traveling on the national road when a wing truck being driven by Ronald Awas, 33, of La Trinidad Benguet, hit them.
But another motorcycle rider, delivery boy Branie Nacis, 26, resident of Barangay Inoman in the same town nearly slammed into the truck but lost control and crashed on to the center island.
The victims were rushed to the hospital, but the two women were declared dead on arrival.

Tricycle driver stabs friend during drinking spree
A CONSTRUCTION worker in Urdaneta City sustained two stab wounds after he was stabbed by his own friend during a drinking spree.
Victim Edmund Navida, 24, of Barangay Dilan-Paurido, had an argument with suspect Lyndon Natividad, 58, while they were drinking.
When their argument became more heated, Lyndon went out and took a knife hidden in his tricycle compartment, and stabbed Navida twice on his side.
Navida was rushed to the hospital by his friends, while Lyndon was arrested by authorities.
