Regional, provincial PNP directors file courtesy resignations
FANGED SUBMITS LETTER JANUARY 6
REGIONAL police director P/Brig. General John Chua and the four provincial directors under him have filed their respective courtesy resignations in response to the call of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos to all senior officers to submit their courtesy resignations.
In a statement issued on Friday, January 6, Chua reiterated the commitment of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO-1) in its support to Abalos’ efforts to cleanse the police organization of suspected scalawags involved in illegal drugs trading.
“As the leader of Police Regional Office 1, I am committed to adhere with the values and principles of our organization. To that end, I am leading PRO 1 in voluntarily submitting ourselves to undergo the necessary assessment and evaluation process that the designated Committee will conduct. I have great faith in our leaders’ wisdom, and by taking part in this process, I am certain that it will lead toward the betterment of the PNP organization and our country.”, said Chua.
P/ Colonel Jeff Fanged, Pangasinan provincial director, who filed his resignation simultaneously with Chan and other provincial directors, said “Tiwala ako na hindi ako sangkot sa iligal na droga.”
Fanged added he signed his consent to being investigated, along with the other provincial directors.
Prior to serving as the Pangasinan provincial director, Fanged also served as the chief of the PNP-Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG) in Luzon Field Office for two years.
Meanwhile Fanged ordered all police chiefs to step up their anti-illegal drugs operations.
Fanged said there are two policemen in Pangasinan currently being investigated for illegal drugs but their cases were filed prior to his assumption as provincial director. (Ahikam Pasion)
