Decorp to increase charges in November billing
THE Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp) is set to increase its generation charges for the month of November 2022.
This was confirmed by Atty. Randy Castilan, Decorp spokesperson in an interview Tuesday morning, November 22.
Castilan said for this billing month of November, the generation charge will be P 8.8046 per kilowatt hour (kWh), higher than last month’s P 8.6876/kWh or P 0.117/kwh higher. The generation rate comprises fifty percent of the total charges.
Castilan clarified that the November billing is charged in electricity usage from September 25 to October 26. He attributed the increase to high fuel costs and foreign exchange.
The increase results in average total charge per kilowatt hour at PHP 14.4044/kwh, inclusive of distribution, transmission, supply, metering charges and taxes.
He said the decline in fuel costs in November will be reflected in the January 2023 billing.
Castilan clarified that Decorp’s other fees remain unchanged since 2015. Only the generation charge and tax fluctuate. (Ahikam Pasion)
