LTFRB to PUVs: secure fare matrix for fare hike authority
THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reminded drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) – jeepneys and buses – to secure new fare matrix on authorized fare increases before charging the new fares set to be implemented on Monday, October 3.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, September 27, the LTFRB Region I posted an advisory directing PUV drivers and operators to follow established protocols to ensure order in communities on the day the new fares are implemented.
“Paunawa sa mga operator, na hindi maaaring magtaas ng pamasahe ang mga PUV drivers at operators hangga’t wala pang nai-issue sa kanila na fare matrix guide”, LTFRB said in their advisory.
To secure an updated fare matrix, drivers and operators were directed to go to the LTFRB Regional Office in San Fernando City, La Union, and present their vehicle’s current official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR), franchise verification, copy of provincial authority/CPC decision, and the official receipt of payment of fare increase fee.
Failure to secure all of the stated documents will result in the non-issuance of the updated fare matrix. (Ahikam Pasion)
