THE Lingayen government was recently presented the Regional Gawad Pagkilala awarded  by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Region 1 during awarding  ceremony in San Fernando City, La Union.

The award cites a local government that strictly implements anti-illegal fishing, distribution of information to fisherfolks about livelihood opportunities in fishing.

Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil expressed his gratitude to BFAR for continuing to recognize the town’s projects and activities for livelihood.

“Our humble municipality promises to continue providing good services to fellow fishermen and farmers,” Bataoil said.

BFAR earlier cited Lingayen for inclusion in the Clean and Abundant Oceans Program-Search for Outstanding Coastal Community.  (PIA Pangasinan)
