THIS time, a 68-year-old Lola in Malasqui has proven that age is not a hindrance to finishing your studies.

Felicidad Viray, a resident of Barangay Tobor in Malasiqui town, did not let her age a deterrent in finishing her studies in junior high school under the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program.

She received her diploma during their ALS graduation and completion ceremonies on September 19 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center II.

Backed with determination and her family’s support, she is one of the 1,800 ALS that successfully passed in Pangasinan for this year.

She had to give up her schooling despite her desire to finish her studies because Lola Felicidad had to work to provide for her family.

During the graduation ceremony, Governor Ramon Guico III commended the learners in their success despite the challenges they faced.

The DepEd ALS program will continue providing opportunities for education for people like Lola Felicidad who’ve not given up on their dreams to complete their high school education and earn a diploma. (Ahikam Pasion)
